What patients say on Google
“This office is in a great location with lots of parking available. Their decor is very soothing and creates a relaxing atmosphere; I felt very comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.”
“I am a college student who suffers from MDD and ADHD, and I went to the Montana Psychiatry and Brain Health Center in Bozeman. To put it simply, this office almost cost me my life. I originally went in to treat my ADHD because I already have a counselor I see regularly for my MDD. From the start, this provider was difficult, and I wish I had read the reviews before going. That is a mistake I will never make again after my experience here. When I tried to get help for my ADHD, my provider pushed Wellbutrin for over an hour before listening to me when I explained that I do not respond well to medications like this and have tried several in the past. When I asked them to explain how these drugs worked, I was given no real answer. After a couple of months on the first medication, I felt I needed more help with my MDD in addition to my ADHD, so I went back to the office and was prescribed Wellbutrin. After doing my own research, I realized how dangerous this drug can be. My provider failed to properly explain the severity of the side effects, which caused me to almost end my life two weeks ago. I began having an adverse reaction to the Wellbutrin and experienced extremely intense depression and suicidal thoughts. When I realized it might be the medication, I called the office, but the secretary failed to understand or communicate the severity of my condition. This seems to be a reacurring issue from the other reviews. They then responded by forcing me to leave my home and go to the hospital, where I was placed under a mandatory six‑hour hold. As someone with severe anxiety, even the thought of this is overwhelming. They threatened to call the police if I did not go to the hospital. If all of this does not highlight the insufficient care that Montana Brain Health provides, maybe this will: when I called the office a second time for urgent help—because they couldn’t get me in until the next week—the doctor was extremely disrespectful and belittling. Now, after that personal account, here are the facts: The staff does not show up on time for appointments. At every appointment I attended, I arrived before the doctor and watched them walk in late. This is simply a fact. The staff is dangerous. They failed to properly explain drug side effects or create an emergency plan. The secretary failed to report a life‑threatening emergency. The staff does not care about patient well‑being. Not once after I almost took my life due to an adverse reaction did anyone from the office contact me to see if I was okay. This is plainly unacceptable. There is a disregard for feedback. This office appears to operate with no oversight from its main office in Billings. When I asked to speak with my provider’s supervisor, I was told that was not an option. It is dangerous for them to operate with no supervision. Normally, I am not someone who leaves negative reviews, but for everyone’s safety, I do not believe this office should be allowed to practice. They do not operate with their patients’ well‑being in mind and are a danger to this community. I am grateful I am still here and did not become a victim of this establishment’s mistreatment of patients. Please do not let your loved ones go here if you care about their safety. You all can read the other review for yourself, it is not just me. Thank you.”
“The staff and services offered at Montana Psychiatry are amazing. Everyone takes the time to make you feel heard! Highly recommend!”
“If you are going through significant mental health issues, I would not recommend this place. I hadn’t seen a psychiatrist since high school, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. From my very first and only in-person meeting with the doctor, I felt uncomfortable. While she showed a little empathy, I personally experienced her demeanor and facial expressions as incredibly judgmental. When I tried to share my disappointment about a confusing situation, I felt dismissed and was told I was making “false accusations.” Why on earth would I randomly make up a fake accusation against a psychiatry office? This left me feeling unheard and completely unsupported. The doctor went on to make accusations against me which was pretty shocking and honestly downright traumatizing. My other Google reviews are an excellent example of my values I uphold and provide insight into my character. I also spoke with a nurse or administrative staff member over the phone about a stressful situation. Her tone and response came across as belittling, demeaning, and rigid which did not help me at all and definitely made the situation much worse. It genuinely makes me sick to my stomach that these two "professionals" have access to my personal information. Based on my personal experience, I would encourage anyone in the middle of a crisis to seek care elsewhere with providers who communicate with compassion and empathy. You deserve to feel safe, heard, and supported by an establishment that is supposed to be providing mental health care.”
